Sneak preview of our exciting new products!

Where on earth does the time go? One minute we’re working on Christmas promotions, and the next we are starting our plans for the annual Rutland pilgrimage! It’s now only 90 days until this year’s Birdfair and Helen (my right hand lady and the one who remembers everything that I don’t!) and I spent the whole day yesterday umming and aahing about stock, stands, staff, accommodation, van, card machines, uniforms, competition, etc etc.

It’s a good job that I make copious notes and take lots of pictures each year, as it’s hard to remember things. You would think that after all these years of doing the Birdfair, I would find it a piece of cake to organise, but that’s definately not the case…..or maybe it’s just me getting older!

We’re plannng to have a really good show as we’ve got some great new products to showcase this year. The most exciting one being the launch of our brand new RSPB Avocet Jacket. This is something that I’ve been working on for ages and I am delighted to have been given the RSPB seal of approval. It’s a really good waterproof, breathable jacket made from a high quality fabric retailing at £195, and for every one sold, we will be donating £10 to the RSPB. There will be a chance to win one on the stand in our ‘Guess the Eggs’ competition, as well as a birding break with Somerset Birdwatching Holidays (our birding partners down here in Somerset).

We’ll also be showcasing our new Woodlark range (mens and ladies jackets and smock). These are made from a tough cotton outer fabric with a waterproof/breathable lining. With some great features, such as loads of pockets and our signature high performance hood, we know this range will be in high demand.

We’ve now also established ourselves as doing great products for the keen photographer and have won awards for our Traveller Jacket and Raptor Waistcoat, hence we have an updated Traveller and a brand new Aperture Jacket in the pipeline, both laden with pockets to store photographic equipment (or anything else for that matter!).

We’ll also have plenty of show offers on Craghoppers products, particularly their Nosillife shirts featuring permanent insect repellency, as well as some great Grisport walking boots and shoes, and we’ve even got experts joining us from Tilley this year, to be put to the test!

So make a note in your diary: Birdfair 2018 17-19 August, Rutland Water, and make sure you visit our stand which is back in our usual spot in Marquee 6, stands 5-9 (we tried Marquee 3 last year but have been drawn back to our spiritual home in Marquee 6!). If you are looking for something in particular, it is always worth contacting us to put it to one side as stock does tend to run out as the weekend progresses.
