Ventile. The best protection against chilling winds, cold and wet Review by Martin Chaplin
Quality Price Value By far the best trousers on the market for outdoor use. Light, comfortable, very warm, anti-rustle and very well stitched. I use them for Bird-watching and found them the most protective, wind resistant to north, north east winds when I visited Titchwell Marsh RSPB, North Norfolk. They gave me comfort I had never experienced as well, which had been lacking in all other trousers I've used in the past. The pockets are great as they are in the right position for birding bits and bobs. I phoned Titchwell Marsh on the Thursday as they advised me that they had no stock of these Trousers. So I phoned Country Innovation Thursday late afternoon that I was visiting Titchwell Marsh on Saturday. On arrival at Titchwell Marsh there were the Kestrel trousers waiting for me. Now that's what I call great service. Well done Country Innovation. It rained when I was wearing these and they are very good at shedding rain drops and when they are wet the material also dries within a few minutes in the wind after it stopped raining. Also while they are wet they still are very, very good at wind resistance and totally dry within. They are very highly recommended, well worth the outlay of the cost and so well made they will probably give me many, many years of hard wear. If you want the best, these are it. You get what you pay for and that's that. I only wished I had purchased these sooner. (Posted on 01/05/2012)

Cross country skiing Review by Phil Hughes
Price Value Quality I do use the trousers on the ranges a lot, but thought I need a really good strong pair of trousers for my ski touring! I used a clip on pair of braces to hold them up [buttons for braces would be a great idea] and I was more than happy with their performance, in all the freezing cold winds the trousers were much better than anything used before [the lining helps very much]. The little zip hip pockets were great for Lip-sol and other things I did not want to loose, the 2 back pockets were good for emergency blankets etc, the inner zipped thigh pocket was perfect for my mobile/cell phone. Very good all round. (Posted on 22/02/2012)

ventile...kepping you dry! Review by craig churchill photography
Have had the smock for twelve months now which is superb and got around to buying the trousers this year and I have to say they are superb, out in all conditions photographing and they keep you bone dry, spent many hours photographing kingfishers and a lot of the time was spent calf deep in running water,my goretex boots were not up to the job and my feet got wet and even though I'm sure the kestrel trousers are not recommended for prolonged submergance my legs remamained dry!!! Awesome!!!! (Posted on 06/09/2010)

Fantastic!!! Review by Rhys Jones
wow, it don't get much better than this! The trousers arrived this morning, straight on, and out into my favourate local wood, and into Heavy Derbyshire rain! Initial impression is AWESOME, the rain just runs off, they are warm, comfy, and an excellent fit, I was really dry!, really looking forward to testing them again out in The Peak District. Worth every penny, and as usual superb service from Country Innovation, can't wait for my Kestral Smock to arrive(on back order) 10 out of 10...... (Posted on 22/01/2010)

Tested to the limit Review by Toptox
I've been using my Kestrel trousers and smock for over a year now - predominantly for archery and open canoeing.
Absolutely brilliant..!!
For archery the lack of front buttons etc on the smock means nothing for the string to catch. Colours are ok for GNAS tournement too. The trousers are great, rain or shine, without the annoying clammy feeling of normal waterproofs when (and if) the sun shows itself.
Canoeing whilst kneeling all the time, the articulated arms of the smock make paddling comfortable and snug, with the trousers roomy enough not to pinch or feel tight whilst kneeling. Smock and trousers have been tested to the limit with regular use and two extended Loch Lomond wild camping trips - both with bad weather. No worries with fire sparks as there would be with Gortex or similar.
With all the use they still look as-good-as-new! (Posted on 07/01/2010)
