Excellent product Review by Adrian Boots
I have just returned from a trip to Swedish Lapland, 150km above the arctic circle. I was on the Woodlore Arctic Experience 2010 course with Ray Mears.
For this environment with average temperatues of -20 degrees, the requirement was for a jacket that was both waterproof and breathable but more importantly windproof and resistant to heat sources when drying out as this is often takes the form of a woodburner or open fire.
I found these requirements were met and exceeded by the Rover jacket. I wore several wool layers beneath for insulation and still found it to be flexible whilst working.
It absolutely demonstrated its worth time and again. When snow mobiling, the jacket remained windchill resistant to well below -25 and made the best awning over my head when sleeping out in snow holes. It had the right amount and size of pockets for storing tools and spare gloves, hat etc.
Overall, an excellent product that when worn with insulating layers, is highly recommended for cold and windy environments. So for the kind of weather conditions we experience here in the UK, I would say this jacket is hard to beat. I can't wait to try it out on the Mendip Hills! (Posted on 22/03/2010) -
Rover jacket Review by Richard M
I bought a Rover jacket about 12 years ago. I wear it constantly during the winter months and it is still very nearly as good as new. It is far more comfortable and cosy to wear than any Goretex garment and the extra weight doesn't matter for all but the most energetic pursuits.
It is simply the best piece of clothing of any type that I have ever worn, and I recommend it thoroughly. (Posted on 02/12/2009) -
5 Stars Review by Mick & Glenda Hillsley
My wife and I were recently in the market for a new weatherproof coat for a forthcoming visit to the Isle of Mull, and having been served well over the last 10 years with a couple of Tog 24 technical waterproof jackets we were looking to purchase something that could offer the waterproof, windproof ability with a long life expectancy, with all this in mind we decided on a Rover winter jacket each, which we purchased from Focal Point in Cheshire. We recently used the jackets whilst visiting RSPB Leighton Moss and can honestly say we have no regrets with our purchases as they were extremely warm and comfortable in some mixed weather conditions. Many thanks for your great gear and we hope to extend our range with more items in the coming month's.

5 Stars Review by Peter from Kent
Dear Ms Chilvers!
I am a retired soldier and I now write full-time. I have purchased several of your products over the past year and have now gone through different seasons using Country Innovation gear. I own a Rover, Falcon, Harrier and several of the fleeces. I have just bought a Lady Falcon jacket for my wife. I do regular long distance hill and field walking in preparation of some planned future mountaineering excursions. Because I have quite a severe injury suffered during a war that very often causes me severe discomfort and pain, I simply cannot compromise on clothing. Some of the newer clothes designs tend to be “sharp edged†and quite tight fitting.
The Country Innovation gear is “round edged†and loose fitting and the fabrics are really impressive. I have used many different types of clothing and operational uniforms under very often arduous conditions over the past 30 years in hot desert, tropical, mountain and ice conditions especially in North Canada, Russia and China. I have to say that your garments stand out as some of the very best I have ever seen and used. The finish is especially impressive.
I am now planning to purchase the Ventile Smock and have already started talking to your most helpful staff about this. I always ask many questions regarding each item that I order and I have to say your personnel are always helpful, very patient and deliveries are always on time.
Many thanks again for your excellent products and the innovative way in which you present your enterprise.
Kind regards
Peter.. (Posted on 06/11/2008) -

Some time ago I contacted you regarding the possible purchase of a Rover jacket. During the 'phone conversation, you provided some very good advice relating to the most appropriate size.
Anyway, I purchased the jacket and I am very impressed with the design and manufacture of the jacket and the quality of the materials used. Already, the jacket has been subjected to some terrible weather conditions and has performed brilliantly. Importantly, the sleeve length is generous and does not 'ride-up' in the way they do with a waxed jacket.
More recently, I've acquired a fleece which has now been zipped into the Rover jacket in readiness for some serious 'winter weather'. Again, as a result of your advice, the fleece fits nicely into the Rover jacket and is a perfect fit. Unlike my old waxed jacket, the Rover provides plenty of warmth and freedom of movement.
Thank you.
Regards
